Since 1994, François St-Jean has been the sole owner of FSTJ Percussion, a percussion instrument rental business in the Montreal area. Principal timpanist in three orchestras (Orchestre symphonique de Laval, Orchestre symphonique de Trois-Rivières and Orchestre des Grands Ballets Canadiens), he also plays occasionally with other orchestras of high renown, such as: Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, Orchestre symphonique de Québec and Orchestre Métropolitain.
